PR Newswire
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 5, 2026
Holmes, a four-decade transportation and logistics leader, succeeds Geoff Anderman as CEO, effective immediately
Company also announces Leadership Team updates and appoints Board of Directors
COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — STG Logistics, Inc. (“STG” or the “Company”), one of the nation’s largest providers of integrated port-to-door services and supply chain solutions for cargo owners and logistics providers, today announced the appointment of Jack Holmes as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately, to lead the Company into its next phase of growth. Holmes succeeds Geoff Anderman, who has held a leadership position since early 2017, including through the Company’s successful financial restructuring earlier this year. The Company also named Clinton Smith as interim Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Tyler Holtgreven, and Cherie Schaible as interim General Counsel, succeeding Chase Welsh, and announced new members of its Board of Directors, establishing a leadership structure aligned with STG’s go-forward priorities.

Holmes brings more than four decades of transportation and logistics experience, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence and positioning companies for growth. He spent 37 years at UPS, rising from part-time package handler to President and CEO of UPS Freight, which he led from 2006 until his retirement in 2016. Before stepping into that role, he led the integration of Overnite Transportation, UPS’s largest-ever domestic acquisition, into what became UPS Freight, one of the largest less-than-truckload carriers in the United States. Since 2016, he has served in board and executive leadership roles across the logistics sector, helping several companies through strategic transformations, including in his roles as Executive Chairman of ACERTUS and Emerge and as a director of Werner Enterprises. In recognition of his longstanding commitment to the shipper community, Holmes received the President’s Award from the National Shippers Strategic Transportation Council (NASSTRAC), one of the organization’s highest honors.
Holmes’ appointment follows a comprehensive search process led by the Company’s Board of Directors. The Board selected Holmes for the industry knowledge and operational expertise needed to build on the Company’s financial and operational progress, and to drive its continued growth. Under Anderman and Holtgreven’s leadership, the Company reduced its funded debt by nearly $1 billion, or approximately 90%, positioning STG to invest in the business with the strong backing of its ownership group.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jack as STG’s next Chief Executive Officer,” said Gary Enzor, Chairman of STG’s Board of Directors. “Jack has spent his entire career in this industry, from the loading dock to the CEO’s office, and he brings a rare combination of operational depth and experience building and scaling businesses. He is the right choice to lead STG as it accelerates growth and continues investing in the business. On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Geoff and Tyler for their leadership through one of the most pivotal periods in the Company’s history. Thanks to their efforts, STG’s new leadership team inherits a strong foundation and real momentum, and we look forward to partnering closely with them to deliver on the significant opportunities ahead.”
“I’m honored to join STG as the Company enters its next phase with a strengthened balance sheet,” said Holmes. “STG has built a differentiated, one-stop port-to-door platform for containerized freight in North America, and a team that has shown remarkable resilience while continuing to deliver for customers at the highest levels. I look forward to building on that foundation together, with a focus on my immediate priorities: investing in our network, driving disciplined growth, and continuing to deliver the exceptional service and integrated solutions our customers count on.”
Leadership Team
Following its financial restructuring, STG has aligned its leadership structure with its go-forward priorities. As part of that effort, Smith has been named interim Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Smith brings more than 25 years of experience, including CFO roles across the freight and logistics sector, and has led finance teams through private equity ownership, restructurings, and integrations, most recently as CFO of a private equity-backed LTL and brokerage company. Holtgreven played a central role in guiding the Company through its financial restructuring and will remain with STG through November 1 to work with Smith on a smooth transition. Smith will lead STG’s finance organization while the Company conducts a search for a permanent Chief Financial Officer. Additionally, Cherie Schaible has been named interim General Counsel, succeeding Chase Welsh. Schaible brings more than two decades of legal experience and has served as interim General Counsel for companies including Thrasio, New Era Technology, and Alvaria, supporting them as they emerged from periods of transformation and transition.
Together, this experienced leadership team brings the focus and industry expertise to build on STG’s strengthened balance sheet, accelerate growth, and continue delivering for customers, partners, and employees.
Board of Directors
STG has appointed Gary Enzor as Chairman of its Board of Directors, and John Labrie, Joe Troy, Dave Ebbrecht, and Darren Hawkins as directors, who join existing director Tom Donohue. In connection with his appointment, Holmes has also joined the Board. With the full backing of STG’s ownership group, led by funds managed by affiliates of Fortress Investment Group, Fidelity Management & Research Company, and Invesco Senior Secured Management, the Board brings deep expertise across transportation, logistics, and finance to support the Company’s next phase.
CEO Transition
Anderman will remain with STG as an advisor to Holmes and the leadership team to support an orderly transition. Holmes will work closely with STG’s leadership team and Board to advance the Company’s long-term growth and success. STG’s operations and commitment to its customers, vendors, and partners remain unchanged.
“It has been a privilege to lead STG through its transformation alongside this exceptional team,” said Anderman. “With that work complete and STG on solid financial footing, this is the right moment for new leadership to take the Company into its next chapter. I am confident STG is in extremely capable hands, and I look forward to supporting Jack as he steps into his role.”
